5月16日東京都大田区生まれ 横浜育ち
学生時代から野外フェスやクラブイベントでライブペインターとして活動。
写真大学を中退後、東京の書店で児童書を担当し、編集者へと転職。
2012年よりイラストレーターとして独立。
雑誌、書籍、ウェブ媒体を中心に活動し、時々ライターや編集も手がける。
国内外問わず自身のアートワークも展開。
水彩画、ペン画、壁画などいくつかのテイストを使い分けて描いている 個性的な動物、独創的なモンスター、穏やかな巨人、ファッションイラストなどの全てが、 日常生活のイマジネーションから生まれています。
2014年 バンコク・タイにて個展をふたつのギャラリーで同時開催する。
「日本人らしくないユニークなイラスト」として評価を受ける。

Kaoru Konagai is a illustrator and painter who have few styles illustrations.
I was born in Tokyo and grew up in Yokohama.
I was doing live wall painting at outdoor music party as a student.
I worked as a bookstore staff and an editor then became an independent illustrator/painter in 2012.
Unique animals, ingenious monsters, gentle giants, fashion illustrations are all imagination was born from around my daily life.
My artwork mainly appears in magazines, books or websites
illustration is not so Japanese but varies in styles.
I also spending time in Tokyo working on artwork for own future projects.
